ARTEMIS
Advanced Research & Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems
Introducing ARTEMIS
Some 98% of computing devices are now embedded in all kinds of equipment. Computers are found in everyday devices such as mobile phones, credit cards, domestic TVs, multimedia equipment and washing machines as well as in cars and planes, offices and factories. In the next five years, the share of the value of embedded electronics components in the value of the final product is expected to reach significant percentages.
ARTEMIS European Technology Platform (ARTEMIS-ETP)
The ARTEMIS European Technology Platform represents the field of Advanced Research & Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems. The ARTEMIS-ETP started in 2004 and produced a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) in 2006: the ARTEMIS SRA. The ARTEMIS SRA gives a vision, mission, goals and strategy, as a Pan-European guideline for the research, technology and innovation in the field of ARTEMIS.The SRA is updated in 2011.
ARTEMISIA Industry Association (ARTEMIS-IA)
In January 2007, the key members of the ARTEMIS-ETP founded the ARTEMIS Industry Association based on Duch law; this association is registered under the name Artemisia in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. The association was set up to take over and continue the activities of the ARTEMIS ETP and to set up with the Commission and Member States a Joint Undertaking to perform R&D in the field of ARTEMIS. ARTEMISIA has updated the ARTEMIS SRA in 2011.
ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking (ARTEMIS-JU)
The ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking was created as the legal embodiment of a so called Joint Technology Initiative, with the following members: the EC, 22 participating ARTEMIS Member States and the ARTEMISIA ASSOCIATION. Till 2013, each year an ARTEMIS-JU Call for projects will be launched to be co-founded by the EC and the ARTEMIS Member States
